Je ne suis plus dans le milieu académique depuis maintenant presque 2 ans mais une collègue diplômée de la KUL m'a transmis cette offre de PhD, cela intéressera peut-être certains d'entre vous.

PhD position: Development of Automated Measurement Tools for Ultrasound Images

For the Pelvic floor research group led by Prof. Jan Deprest, we are looking for a bright and motivated PhD student with a technical background, and interested in developing practical algorithms for automating common fetal and gynaecological measurements.

The pelvic floor research group is based at the Centre of Surgical Technologies of the KU Leuven (Leuven, Belgium).

The successful candidate is expected to develop new methodologies and software tools for real-time analysis of two and three dimensional gynaecological and fetal lung ultrasound images. The analysis indicates the extent of biomechanical damage caused due to childbirth.

We are looking for a candidate who holds or will soon receive a Master degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science or Biomedical Sciences. Experience with programming in MATLAB and proficiency in English language are required. Experience with common image processing methods, neural networks and machine learning is a plus. The candidates should be keen to learn new techniques.

The PhD position is funded for 4 years. The starting date is negotiable, and is expected to be between July 2016 and January 2017.
